Rather than shooting a wedding this weekend, I played paparazzi at my brother's graduation from UW-Milwaukee! It was great getting a little time to recharge and celebrate with family, even though I'm still somewhat in denial that my little brother is all grown up.
It seems like just yesterday I was busy doing sisterly things like telling him I had magic powers, or that I could talk to people through the Lego phone we built, or threatening to shave one of his eyebrows in the middle of the night if he didn't do what I said. Ahh, those were the days...
There's Alex--smack dab in the center!
EVERY grad was on their phone, trying to find their families in the stands.
Me and my grandma:
He's done!
With our proud parents (with Mom smircking at me):
We wined and dined later on along the river at Water Buffalo in the Third Ward. A cool piece of art on their wall:
Random alert--I always make my grandma show me her cell phone, because I'm pretty sure she's got the smallest one ever made! It cracks me up every time!
Me with my beautiful sister Lauren:
These last three shots crack me up. This is my cousin Jack--5 years old, and most definitely an aspiring high-fashion photographer. He comes up with angles and creativity I haven't seen anywhere else, and he's not afraid to give direction. His style also includes zooming in on your face incredibly close, blasting you with the flash, looking through the hole between the flash & the actual viewfinder at you, and then laughing hysterically when he sees what he's just captured.
Utilizing his mom's camera:
Making his sister shoot him:
And a very-intimate self portrait. Who knows, I may need to hire him someday!

Ha! These are too funny of the little guy. Great shots from the graduation too.
Wasn't that the best? When you has some type of super control over your little brother! I do have to say I miss those days too! :)
Thanks for capturing this moment, Carly! As usual, you did a beautiful job.
